How did the prophet spread the message of Islam in Arabia and far beyond? What stages did his da`wah go through, and how?
Among his many achievements, Muadh was one of six men who collected the Quran while Prophet Muhammad was still alive. Due to his vast knowledge, he was appointed to teach the Makkans that converted to Islam en masse after the liberation of Makkah.
The life of Aishah is proof that a woman can be far more learned than men and that she can be the teacher of scholars and experts. Her life is also proof that a woman can exert influence over men and women and provide them with inspiration and leadership. Her life is also proof that the same woman can be totally feminine and be a source of pleasure, joy and comfort to her husband. She did not graduate from any university there were no universities as such in her day.
Let us reflect on the creation of humans from the womb. From a drop of a man’s sperm entering a female’s egg, a life is created. The process that would allow the growth of this being and its protection is a universe by itself. Yet we only see a baby born without consideration of what it went through to make it to this stage and who was responsible for such complex creation!
This Surah was revealed to counter the attacks and the hostile campaign launched by Abu Lahab and his wife, Umm Jamil, against the Prophet (peace and blessings be on him). Allah the Almighty took it upon Himself to defend His messenger and establish the final word on his behalf.
